Meet Coach Jinjun Shen
Foil Coach — Pleasanton
Coach Jinjun Shen brings over 12 years of competitive coaching experience and an extensive background in elite fencing. Beginning his training at age nine in Shanghai, China, he advanced through China’s rigorous professional sports development system to become a member of the Shanghai Fencing Team, earning numerous national medals and competing internationally.
Coaching Career
Coach Shen previously served as Head Coach at Eastern Kentucky University and Ridge High School in New Jersey, where he led the boys’ fencing team to two state championships. He also founded Royal Fencing International and co-founded Wanglei International Fencing Club in New Jersey alongside Lei Wang, the 2004 Olympic silver medalist and 2006 World Champion.
Developing Competitive Athletes
Throughout his coaching career, Coach Shen has developed nationally and internationally competitive athletes, including NAC gold medalists, Summer Nationals top finishers, and World Cup competitors.
