Safety rules
- Respect for coaches and staff is required at all times.
- Good sportsmanship is required and bad behavior will not be tolerated. If you exhibit poor behavior, you may be asked to sit out of class or asked to leave the club.
- Do not speak to your child from upstairs or outside of the fencing room. They should be paying attention to their coach and opponent. This is a safety issue.
- Only water is allowed on the fencing room floor or in the bag area.
- Athletes only on the fencing room floor or in the bag area – parents can watch from upstairs.
- Full fencing gear must be worn (except in beginning classes). Please be sure to keep your equipment up to date and in working order. This includes LONG SOCKS and always wearing an underarm protector. Under 14years old should wear a chest plate as well.
- Remember to salute and shake hands out of respect for your opponent.
- Your mask must stay on while on the strip or the rubber floor
- Closed toe athletic shoes only.
- If you are at a competition, remember you are representing yourself, your family, your coach and BAFC – act accordingly. Poor behavior at competitions will not be tolerated and can lead to being asked to leave the club.
