Fencing is considered one of the safest sports, both in the Olympics and beyond. Compared to other contact sports, the injury rates in fencing are notably low. For instance, during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, only 2% of fencers sustained injuries that necessitated medical attention.
If you are feeling unwell, please stay home. Should you miss a class, you can make it up by attending another session that matches your level and age group.
If you are under 7 years old, you will be in the Lil Pirates (Level 1) group. Beyond this age, your level is determined by the coach based on individual skill and progress. Typically, most children stay in the beginner class for 3 to 9 months. The intermediate level usually starts after 12 months, but this can vary as each athlete is unique. Private lessons are an excellent option for those looking to advance more quickly.
You can begin private lessons whenever you're ready. These lessons are beneficial for improving skills and progressing to the next level.
For beginners, we recommend one lesson per week. Intermediate students should aim for two lessons per week, while competitive or elite participants may benefit from two to four lessons weekly.
Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your lesson starts to allow time for a warm-up and ensure you're ready to begin on time.
